Snowy, windy day in forecast for Cape Breton, Antigonish

By Kevin Northup Dec 5, 2025 | 5:47 AM

A snowy and windy day in Cape Breton and parts of the mainland.

A snow squall watch is in effect for Antigonish, Pictou and Inverness south of Mabou.

These areas could get another five centimetres of snow, while Inverness north of Mabou could get over 15 centimetres.

Environment Canada says blowing snow will create reduced visibility and will build up quickly.

Meanwhile a wind warning is in place for all of Cape Breton, gusts up to 100 kilometres an hour are expected through the day.
