Several new schools on the way with largest education capital budget ever

By Jacob Moore Dec 4, 2025 | 8:23 AM

This year the education department has its largest capital budget ever.

The provincial government says the nearly $243 million dollars will tackle the growing needs of the school system.

That includes a new English school in Moncton, for Kindergarten to Grade 8 students, to replace the Forest Glen and Sunny Brae schools.

Three schools are getting additions and upgrades. That is École Mathieu-Martin in Dieppe, Bonar Law Memorial High School in Five Rivers, and École Sainte-Anne in Fredericton.

In Oromocto, three new Kindergarten to Grade 8 schools are coming to replace seven existing schools.

And Woodstock will get a French-language school for the area. The province says this project was added based on census data to make sure residents had the right to school in the language of their choice.

Work on all of those projects will start in the 2026-27 budget year.
