Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement.

All of Nova Scotia can expect snow, rain, and strong winds mid-week.

There’s potential for 15 to 35 cm of snow.

With significantly less snow along and near the Atlantic coast, they may receive 30 to 50 mm of rain.

From Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday afternoon, there’s potential for northeasterly wind gusts of up to 70 to 90 km/h.

Strong winds could cause tree branches to break or may damage utility lines.

“While it is too soon to give specific details, a winter storm is expected beginning Tuesday afternoon with the worst conditions expected overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning,” says Environment Canada.

There could be slight deviations in the weather system’s track which may change snowfall amounts significantly.
