Saint John issues call for local artists

By Bryan Tait Nov 17, 2025 | 11:50 AM

The Saint John Community Arts Board is accepting submissions for the 2025 City of Saint John Art Bank program.

The board is looking for submissions from individual emerging or professional artists, groups and collaborations who are residents of Saint John.

The City of Saint John has a large collection of visual art and heritage pieces that have been donated or purchased by the city.

The work is on display around the city, including at City Hall, the Saint John Arts Centre, Market Square and the Saint John Free Public Library.

The Art Bank program is an opportunity to grow the collection. Proposals for the purchase of paintings, sculptures, limited edition prints and photographs, drawings, fine craft, mixed media and other related mediums will be considered.

The priority will be to acquire pieces by artists not currently in the Art Bank collection.

The collection includes works by celebrated Saint John artists Miller Brittain, Fred Ross and Herzl Kashetsky.

Program submission guidelines and application forms can be found here.
