By Kelli Rickard Nov 7, 2025 | 9:46 AM

Police have charged a second man with second-degree murder following a homicide in Halifax.

A 57-year-old man was arrested on Thursday afternoon for the murder of Brian David Johnson last week.

Police say the 70-year-old was physically assaulted in his residence on Richmond Street on October 29th. Johnson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the second arrest in Johnson’s murder. On Tuesday evening police arrested a 56-year-old man and charged him with second-degree murder.

Police say they do not anticipate further arrests in this investigation.

The second man accused is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
