If you’re in the Sussex area over the weekend, you may notice soldiers in training.
The 8th Canadian Hussars Regiment will be conducting stability operation training exercises.
This involves 35 soldiers who may be carrying service weapons, but they will not be loaded with ammunition.
They’ll be patrolling local roads and in areas including the regimental museum, Sussex Fire Department, and surrounding infrastructure.
Movement will be on foot and in military vehicles.
The training being held from October 17 to 19 is part of the regiment’s annual readiness program, ensuring the 8th Canadian Hussars remain prepared to support their communities and Canada whenever called upon.
The brigade is composed of part-time professional soldiers who live and work across New Brunswick and Newfoundland & Labrador.
