Your help is needed for the Charlotte County Hospital in St. Stephen.
The 12th annual Charlotte FM Radiothon will be live on the air, helping to raise funds on Thursday, October 9, from 7 am to 7 pm.
Over the last 11 years, over $1.6 million has been raised during the radiothon.
“That is just totally incredible,” Foundation President Steve Backman told Mark Downey, the Morning Show Host for 98.1 Charlotte FM.
They have a long list of items this year that they need. “We try our best to try and get as many items on the list that we can. One of the first items is four new beds for the critical care unit. Those beds are quite old, and when you are in a critical care situation, comfort is an important aspect. These beds also link into the monitoring system so patients can be monitored more closely,” Backman says.
These beds cost over $8600 each.
The Hospital Foundation is also hoping to raise enough money to purchase a portable X-ray unit, which comes with a price tag of around $150,000.
Also on their list, items including a Cardiograph machine, two crash carts, and a stretcher. They hope to raise over $250,000.
The public can drop by the hospital to make their donation, or they can call in at 506-465-5885 or 506-465-5886.
