Input still wanted in airport survey

By Tim Davidson Sep 24, 2025 | 6:02 PM

Input continues to be gathered to help restore regional air passenger services in parts of northwestern Ontario.

Fort Frances, Kenora and Dryden have turned to a firm that is working to build the business case.

Dryden CAO Roger Nesbitt says they are about halfway through the process of creating a study that can be presented to airlines.

“The outcome of the air passenger feasibility study…we hope to create a business case for potential carriers,” Nesbitt told Dryden city council at the Monday night meeting.

“On the completion of the study we will be approaching carriers to develop interest in providing that service.   Not just in Dryden, but throughout the region.  Kenora and Fort Frances are also participating in the study.  So hopefully we’re successful in re-establishing that service in all three communities.”

Nesbitt says the final report is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
