The waitlist for a family doctor went down in August.
As of Sept. 1, Nova Scotia Health says the Need a Family Practice Registry has 84,069 Nova Scotians on the list, according to a news release.
That’s 3,810 less than the number reported at the start of August, which was 87,879 on the list.
This factors in everyone newly added to the registry, as well as people removed because they got a doctor or no longer needed one.
Overall, 7.9 per cent of the population is on the waitlist.
