Two people are critically injured after an aggravated assault in the Annapolis Valley.

RCMP say it was Saturday around 9 p.m. when officers responded to a report of an assault at a home on Hwy 1.

While they were on the way, they learned of another assault nearby involving the same man.

The man had gotten into a fight with someone he knew, drove away from the scene on Hwy 1, crashed the car into a guardrail and assaulted two people before running away.

The two bystanders, aged 61 and 58 both from Clementsport, had life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital.

A third man, a 46-year-old from Clementsport, was also hurt.

The 25-year-old suspect from Clementsport was arrested in Digby for assault charges and was in court, Monday.

The investigation is ongoing.
