Drivers in downtown Moncton can expect delays on Saturday as streets close for the city’s annual Parade of Nations, part of the Mosaïq Multicultural Festival.

Main Street will be closed from Robinson Street to Mechanic Street, and Downing Street will also be fully closed from 10 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m.

The closures are in place to accommodate the parade, which features flags, costumes and traditions from various cultural groups across the region.

The Parade of Nations is part of Mosaïq’s 20th anniversary celebration. The festival, which began as a weekend event nearly two decades ago, has grown into a year-round celebration of arts and culture.

Organizers say the parade is a visual showcase of the community’s diversity and cultural pride.

Following the parade, a free Community BBQ will be held at Riverfront Park from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will feature food from around the world, offering residents a chance to connect and celebrate together.
