A 16-year-old has been arrested after making online threats targeted toward a school in Middle Sackville.

RCMP say it was Tuesday when they received a report that a teenage boy posted a picture of himself on school property holding a firearm, while making threats to harm staff and students.

Investigators learned the weapon was an airsoft gun.

The teen was arrested at home for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose but was released on conditions.

RCMP remind students to think carefully before posting content that could be perceived as a threat, because even if it appears “cool”, it could have lasting criminal consequences.
