Smoke from the Long Lake wildfire in Annapolis County will reduce local air quality and visibility in other parts of Nova Scotia.
Environment Canada says Halifax, Lunenburg, Kings, and Hants Counties will be impacted on Tuesday.
Conditions will vary with wind and fire behavior changes.
Smoke plumes will settle into Kings and Hants Counties Tuesday afternoon after the anticipated wind shift.
According to the forecaster, people more likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke include those aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, anyone with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors.
Symptoms can include eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough.
More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.
