More heat warnings and more temperature records for N.B.

By Tara Clow Aug 13, 2025 | 6:41 AM

Another day, another heat warning.

The hot weather continues for most of the province, with those warnings in effect across New Brunswick. The exception is the cooler areas along the Fundy coast, and Saint John is once again excluded from those warnings.

High temperatures on Wednesday will range between 33 and 37 degrees, with the humidex making it feel more like 38 to 43 degrees.

Environment Canada says temperatures are expected to moderate somewhat on Thursday as a weak cold front passes through the region.

More temperature records across the province on Tuesday.

A high of 34.3 degrees was reached in Saint John yesterday, beating the old record from 1988 of 28.4 degrees.

The St. Stephen area hit a scorching 37.2 degrees, crushing an old record of 31.1 set in 1974.

Another temperature record was broken in Grand Manan, at 34.2 degrees, breaking the old record of 29 degrees in 1988.

Other regions where temperature records were broken include Fredericton, Bathurst and Miramichi.

Air quality advisories are also in effect for Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick, and Miramichi and the area due to wildfires.

This could cause reduced visibility,  and some New Brunswickers could be impacted more than others.   You should avoid strenuous activity outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing any symptoms..
