A 32-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly pulled a knife out at a splash pad in Lower Sackville.

The RCMP says they got the call around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

They say a man had threatened a woman with a “sensory irritant” and then took a knife out from his waistband.

Witnesses managed to take it from him and throw it away, and the man ran off before police arrived.

No one was injured, and the 32-year-old was arrested later that night at his home in Dartmouth.

He will appear in court again later.
