Mariners ‘Pink In The Rink’ Raises Over Twelve-Thousand Dollars

By Kevin Northup Nov 4, 2022 | 11:43 AM

A big donation from the Yarmouth Mariners to Yarmouth’s cancer centre.

Over 12-thousand dollars was raised through the ‘Pink in the Rink’ campaign.

The team wore pink jerseys all through October, that were auctioned off, and many community members made their own donations.

Mariners Head Coach and GM Laurie Barron says the community came through.

“We shouldn’t be surprised. This area always goes above and beyond. Cancer is something that’s touched just about everybody, and to be able to help out the local area is awesome,” says Barron.

The Mariners will debut brand-new gold sweaters this weekend, as they host Fredericton tonight and Truro tomorrow.

Yarmouth split two games last weekend at home, that included a loss to the Bearcats.

Barron says they’re focused on tonight’s game.

“They’ve got some very dangerous forwards and some solid defense. They are a better club then what their record shows (7-7), so we’ll have to be ready.”

The Mariners are 8-5 this season.
