Signing your child up for swimming lessons at rural beaches and lakes will be nicer on your wallet this summer.

HRM says new weekly swim programs that include general swimming lessons and lifesaving programs like Bronze Cross and Workplace First Aid, will be free.

They will go alongside the city’s yearly swim lesson programs that are at supervised beaches and aligns with recommendations from the Rural Recreation Strategy, responding to rural needs.

Ages for each program differ.
