A house fire in Beaver Bank is now under control, according to the Halifax fire union.

Crews got the call around 11 a.m. Friday about a fire on Tucker Lake Road in the Sackville area.

Once on scene, firefighters upgraded it to a second alarm fire, bringing in more resources from nearby, according to a social media post from the Halifax firefighters union.

As of 2 p.m., the fire union said it was under control.

The public was asked to avoid the area to let emergency crews do their jobs.
