Ontario Premier Doug Ford is in Boston today alongside fellow Eastern Canadian premiers for a summit with U.S. governors focused on trade, tariffs, and cross-border cooperation.
The meeting, hosted by Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and attended by governors from Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York, comes amid continued economic uncertainty driven by U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade policies.
Premier Ford is joined by Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston, New Brunswick Premier Susan Holt, Prince Edward Island Premier Rob Lantz, Newfoundland and Labrador Premier John Hogan, and Quebec’s Economic Minister Christine Fréchette. Together, they aim to present a united front on key issues including manufacturing, energy, and tourism.
Ford is expected to highlight Ontario’s leadership in automotive manufacturing and clean energy, while exploring new opportunities for collaboration with U.S. states.
