A 29-year-old man is facing charges after punching a construction worker in the south end of Halifax.

Police say it happened Friday around 8:30 p.m. on the 5800 block of Spring Garden Road.

A man, who the construction workers don’t know, tried to show them sexually inappropriate pictures on a cellphone.

When they attempted to usher him away, he tried to start a fight.

He punched one of the workers and hit him in the head with a cellphone before throwing a rock through a pane of glass before running away.

He is scheduled to appear in court to face charges of assault with a weapon and property damage.
