Halifax Regional Police say they got a tip from U.S. authorities that a 10-year-old girl from the country was in contact with a Canadian adult man.
The communication started in January, the man posed as a 15-year-old boy on Snapchat and included sexual content.
The girl also received handwritten letters and gifts.
A 42-year-old man was arrested yesterday on Gaston Road, and had electronic devices and firearms seized.
The man is still in custody with a future court date.
