The Fredericton Police Force (FPF) says it is investigating the sudden death of a 16-year-old girl.

Officers responded to a call on the city’s north side on Sunday and located the teen deceased.

Police are not saying whether the teen’s death is being treated as suspicious by investigators.

“The circumstances and nature of the death are under investigation by the FPF’s Major Crime Team in collaboration with the Coroner’s Office,” the police force said in a social media post on Monday.

“At this early stage, no further details will be released to protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those involved.”
