Two Riverview men are facing charges after shots were fired near a home in Turtle Creek.

Officers responded to a possible robbery in progress along Route 910 around 7:20 p.m. Saturday.

“The caller reported that two individuals dressed in camouflage were in his driveway,” RCMP said in a news release on Wednesday.

The two people fled on foot before officers arrived, and police said they determined early on it was an isolated incident.

RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on Fatima Drive in Riverview the following day and arrested two men, aged 41 and 49.

Officers also seized three firearms — two of which were loaded — a significant amount of ammunition, a camera system, cellphones and camouflage clothing.

The 41-year-old has been charged with possession of prohibited firearms, possession of firearms without holding a license, unsafe storage of firearms, discharge of a firearm while being reckless, careless use of a firearm and attempted to steal a motor vehicle.

Meanwhile, the 49-year-old is charged with obstructing a peace officer, failure to comply with a release order, failure to comply with an undertaking, attempt to steal a motor vehicle and driving while suspended.

Both were remanded into custody following court appearance on Monday and will return to court at a later date.

No injuries were reported during the incident, according to police.
