The New Brunswick SPCA says 41 dogs have been rescued after living in extremely unsanitary conditions.

This includes 25 adults and 16 puppies from just one location, Thursday.

The NBSPCA says they have all received urgent medical care and will remain in foster homes while they recover and receive necessary treatment.

Although they are seeing a remarkable transformation in the pups, already, bills have reached $6,000 and are expected to rise.

Lesley Rogers, executive director of the NBSPCA says, “they’re receiving proper grooming, medical attention and care, but will require ongoing treatment to fully recover.”

The SPCA says animal protection investigations increased by nearly 20 per cent in 2024 since 2023 and based on data since 2025 began, the trend is continuing to rise.
