One person has been taken into custody after an overnight standoff in Cole Harbour.

RCMP said someone barricaded themselves inside of an apartment in the 1100 block of Cole Harbour Road.

Police first posted about the incident on social media around 3:35 a.m. Sunday.

A number of residents in the area were evacuated while others were told to stay indoors.

In an update shortly before 4 a.m., RCMP said a man had been taken into custody.

No other details have been released.
