A resident of Couchiching First Nation is facing charges connected with a stolen vehicle incident.

Provincial Police say they were first alerted Sunday afternoon about a vehicle stolen from a home in Fort Frances.

Treaty Three Police later located it in Couchiching, stopping the vehicle to find the driver was impaired.

An open bottle of liquor was also spotted inside.

The 37-year-old was taken into custody on charges of impaired, taking a motor vehicle without consent, having open liquor and an unspecified driver’s license offence.

They were later released on a promise to return to court in April.

The vehicle was returned to the proper owner.
