Students in the International Falls area could be going to classes four days a week in the near future.
Independent School District 361 is currently exploring the idea and is asking parents for their thoughts.
Several other Minnesota school districts are trying out the flexible learning year programs this year with others looking to implement it this fall or in September 2026.
According to a post from ISD #361, the move is to help school boards reduce costs and improve student mental health and attendance.
Under the plan, students would be in classes for fewer days, but their year would stretch into early June.
Classes could also begin as early as 8 a.m. with dismissal occurring at 3:40 p.m.
ISD #361 has posted a survey on its website for parents to complete. Click here.
The survey will remain until March 21st.
