Happy 135th Birthday to the Town of Digby!
It was incorporated as a town on this day in 1890.
Named after Admiral Robert Digby, a Royal Navy officer in the 1700s who also served briefly as a Member of Parliament.
Digby is known as the scallop capital of the world, and was home to folk artist Maud Lewis.
It also hosts the largest motorcycle rally in Atlantic Canada each September, the Wharf Rat Rally.
