First applicants selected in Argyle Aquaculture Development Area

The process is moving to bring more aquaculture to Argyle.

Six pre-assessed sites in the Aquaculture Development Area received applications.

The Municipality of Argyle says five were selected, all local entrepreneurs.

The companies have 90 days to give the province a detailed application.

Once that gets approved, the province will go forward with public consultations.

The ADA was announced last April, it’s a pilot project through the province and Argyle that identified 54 pre-approved sites for marine and shellfish aquaculture.
