Remembering those we lost in 2024, who were homeless or vulnerably housed in Greater Moncton.
A list of 47 names was read before Moncton City Councillors on Monday night.
Community Coordinator for the Homelessness Steering Committee Andrea Anne says these are not just names on a list.
“They were cherished friends, loved family members and members of our community, each with their own stories, dreams and connections to others. Let us reflect not only on the profound challenges they faced but also on the humanity they shared. Hold their memories close, not just as a reminder of the struggles they endured and the struggles their friends are still enduring, but also as a call to action to build a community rooted in compassion, dignity and support for all. May their lives inspire us to work together toward meaningful change.”
Those lost were between 23 and 70 years old.
