Nova Scotia Health is trying to improve its text message and YourHealthNS appointment reminders.
It comes after the service was put on pause, last week, when a small number of patients had incorrect times in their notifications.
NSH says they have received feedback and are now “fine-tuning” things.
- There is now a seven-day delay before appointments with show up in YourHealthNS in order for clinics to be able to contact first contact patients directly.
- Appointments will only appear for the coming month (28 days) in case of any changes.
- Proactively stopped notifications on sensitive information as well as specialist appointments that are booked from somewhere other than the hospital

Location details will also be clarified including reminders to check with your clinic for more information, as not all details can be included in a notification on the app.
NSH says the reminder service will remain on pause until they are confident these changes are implemented.
