What Salisbury’s $7.9M budget means for residents in 2025

By Alex Allan Dec 19, 2024 | 4:05 PM

Salisbury Council has approved its 2025 budget, which includes a general operating budget of around $7.9 million.

Residents can expect no changes in their property tax rate and the sewer budget will remain $400 per unit.

Mayor Robert Campbell announced the 2025 budget during one of their recent council meetings.

“We can maintain the rate going into 2025 for all sub-units while continuing to act on strategic priorities,” Campbell said.

The budget shows that $650,000 is going to the 2025 Capital Budget that will go towards several projects.

  • Construction of a new public park in Spring Garden
  • Installation of safety railings on the railway trestle
  • Replacing the culvert at Reeder Road/Route 106 intersection
  • Increased holiday lighting at Highland Park

In addition, starting in February 2025, Salisbury will join a new regional waste collection service to improve waste management.

The budget also allocates $150,000 for a Residential Development Incentive Program to increase the housing supply.
