The provincial government is strongly hinting there will be an early election.

Labour and Skills Development Minister David Piccini let the information slip out during a question at Queen’s Park Wednesday morning.

“We’re coming…this is potentially her (Windson West MPP Lisa Gretzky) last Christmas in this place potentially, speaker, because we’re coming from that member from Windsor.  Unions are backing us.”

The next scheduled provincial election in Ontario is October of 2026, but an early election is widely expected in the spring.
