Results are in from the OPP’s Thanksgiving weekend traffic campaign, Operation Impact.

And they show drivers in the Northwest Region cannot help but drive fast.

In total across Ontario, Provincial Police laid 5141 speeding charges, with 14.5% or 744 of those charges originating here in the Northwest.

In addition to the speed violations, OPP in the region also laid 20 charges for seat belt infractions, caught 11 impaired drivers and charged 9 drivers with distracted driving.
