The first outdoor ice rink in Thunder Bay has opened for the year.
Residents now have daily access to the Prince Arthur’s Landing rink.
“There is something really special about skating outdoors so close to Lake Superior,” explained Community and Event Development Coordinator, Catherine Wilson. “We are excited to welcome the public back this winter season.”
Visitors of all ages and skill levels are welcome to use the rink.
The Water Garden Pavilion Lodge will be open so residents can access indoor washroom facilities, lockers, and benches.
Skating aids are available but on a first-come first-served basis.
Around the rink, there is an outdoor fireplace, as well as lighting and seating.
The ice is available daily from noon until 9:00 p.m.
The city is encouraging users to dress accordingly and to come prepared.
