This year’s Uptown Sparkles looks to dazzle Saint John like never before on Friday evening.
Festivities begin at 5 p.m. and range from live music and firepits to marshmallow roasting in King’s Square.
At 6 p.m., the Mayor’s Tree Lighting at City Hall will officially kick off the night.
Nancy Tissington, the executive director of Uptown Saint John, has organized the event for the past 10 years.
Tissington mentions her favourite part of the event that she makes sure not to miss.
“I absolutely love the carolers and when they walk around with the backdrop of our old city, it just gives me goosebumps,” Tissington said.
As Uptown Sparkles celebrates this milestone, Tissington is confident in its continued success and growth.
“We’ve adapted over the years, and we’re always listening to what businesses and consumers want. I think we’ll be here for another 15 years, continually evolving to meet the community’s needs,” she said.
You can add to the glow by wearing your own lights and festive outfits.
