‘Difficult and challenging week’: Hockey Nova Scotia makes clear code of conduct

By News Feb 9, 2026 | 7:38 AM

Hockey Nova Scotia is speaking out about what it calls a “difficult and challenging” week.

In a statement over the weekend, the organization says the safety and well-being of members and the community remains their top priority.

“We are firmly committed to making sure that hockey rinks and programs across our province are safe, respectful and welcoming environments for everyone,” says Hockey Nova Scotia on social media.

“We want to be clear: there is no place in our game for maltreatment, abuse, bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.”

Hockey Nova Scotia reiterates their code of conduct for all those involved in the organization, to ensure a safe and positive environment.

The statement follows sexual assault charges being laid against four youths for hazing incidents involving a hockey team in Truro.

It was in January when RCMP say a young person reported being assaulted during a private team gathering in October; police are looking for more survivors.
