Fredericton man gets 10 years for child exploitation offences

By Bryan Tait Feb 5, 2026 | 2:56 PM

A 31-year-old Fredericton man was sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with an investigation into child sexual abuse and exploitation material.

Brady Matthew Worden appeared in Fredericton provincial court Tuesday for sentencing.

He had been charged with two counts of transmission of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, two counts of failing to comply with a prohibition order, one count of possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, one count of luring a child believed to be under the age of 16 to commit an offence, and one count of failing to comply with an undertaking.

He’d pleaded guilty to the charges on Nov. 10.

The charges stemmed from an investigation led by the New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation unit started in July 2024.

The investigation began after information was received by the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Crime Centre.

On Sept. 24, 2024, members of the ICE unit, along with members of the Fredericton Police Force and RCMP Digital Forensic Services, executed a search warrant at a residence on Glenmar Drive in Fredericton.

Worden was arrested at that time, and police seized several electronic devices.

Worden was released on strict conditions pending a court appearance on Feb. 10, 2025.

On March 13, 2025, while this investigation was still ongoing, the ICE unit received information from the Oromocto RCMP about an investigation involving child exploitation toward a local victim.

According to the RCMP, review of the file showed it also involved Worden.

A second warrant was executed on March 15, this time at a residence on Route 102 in Burton.

Again, police seized several electronic devices and Worden was arrested and remanded in custody.

He appeared in provincial court on March 17.

Worden’s sentence includes a lifetime on the National Sex Offender Registry and a 10-year firearms prohibition.

Once released, Worden will have to abide by conditions set out by the court, including have no contact with anyone under 16, and to not attend any place where someone under 16 is known to be.

Those conditions will be in place for life.
