Freezing rain warnings have now been issued for areas including Sussex, Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County, Moncton and southeast New Brunswick, Oromocto, Grand Lake, St. Stephen and northern Charlotte County.

Environment Canada is now forecasting a mixed bag of precipitation, including snow, freezing rain, freezing drizzle, and rain.

Freezing rain could last between three and six hours, and local ice accumulations could be between two and five millimetres.

Special weather statements are also in effect for those regions, but this also includes Saint John and County, Kent County, Fundy and Kouchibouguac with five to 15 centimetres of snow expected. Mixed precipitation is also expected for those regions.

It’s expected to be quite the mess weather-wise.

Schools in Anglophone East, Anglophone South and Francophone South School Districts remain open today.

There’s also the potential for power outages.
