A man has been charged with attempted murder in an incident of intimate partner violence, after shots were fired in East Preston.

RCMP say it happened Thursday morning around 8:45 a.m. on the 1600 block of Highway 7.

A woman was driving south when a man got out of his vehicle and fired shots in her direction.

She was not hurt.

The man left the scene but was later found at a home on Lake Loon Rd and taken into custody.

The 42-year-old suspect is facing a list of weapon and firearm charges.

He is scheduled for court, Friday.

The investigation is ongoing.
