Drug and weapon charges in Halifax for a B.C. man

RCMP charged a British Columbia man with both drug and weapons offences following a search warrant at a residence in Halifax.

The 28-year-old man was arrested on Friday, December 12 at the 1400 block of Brenton Street after a lengthy investigation.

A quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, hydromorphone, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), cash, jewelry and a switchblade knife were seized from the home.

He was charged with:

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (five counts)
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (two counts)
• Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

On December 15, the charged man appeared in Halifax Provincial Court and he was released on conditions.

His next court appearance is scheduled for January 14.
