Funding to recognize an important piece of Weymouth’s history.

A new visitor information centre is planned for The Electric City/La Nouvelle France Society.

Acadie-Annapolis MP Chris d’Entremont announced over $180,000 toward the design plan.

It will highlight the Electric City’s historical significance as one of the first places in the province to generate electricity.

The society acquired a former church in Weymouth and offers year-round programming there.
