Volunteers needed to deliver Christmas food boxes

By Tara Clow Dec 17, 2025 | 6:58 AM

Today is food box delivery day.

Hundreds of volunteers have spent the past couple of days packing two boxes filled with food that will be distributed to homes in need.

“Everything you need for a nutritious holiday turkey dinner, as well as additional food items to support the family during the Christmas holidays. Each delivery has a food value of approximately $100,” Peter McKee Community Food Centre Board member Scott Babineau stated.

Volunteers are asked to line up at the Moncton Coliseum in their vehicles starting at 12:30 pm onĀ  Wednesday, and instructions will be given from there.

The Peter McKee Centre Christmas Holiday Food Box Campaign has been ongoing for the past 30 days.

“Most of us can’t even imagine the holidays without a Christmas dinner, but for many folks in our community, a Christmas dinner is just not possible. With this program, this actually makes it happen.”

As of last night, funds for 1413 of the 1700 boxes had been received.

Donations are still needed.
