A restaurant in Clare was destroyed by fire.

In a Facebook post, the owner of the Seashore Restaurant and Blue Rock Lounge in Meteghan confirmed the ‘devastating’ blaze.

It happened around 3 a.m Sunday, no word on the cause.

The Meteghan, Little Brook, St. Bernard, Salmon River, Weymouth and Havelock fire departments were on scene, and also had assistance from RCMP, paramedics and Nova Scotia Power.

In the post, the owner says the restaurant was a place for the community to come together, and for 20 years it grew into a place for celebrations, comfort, connection and countless memories.

They say the loss of the building is heartbreaking, but the loss of a community hub is what hurts the most.
