The Yarmouth Mariners got a big win in their last game before Christmas.

Justin Garneau and Liam Dutcher scored in the second period as they defeated Amherst 4-2 Saturday night on the road.

Keegan Warren was sharp with 33 saves.

Jared Pitman and Loic Mburanumwe also scored.

That win put Yarmouth two points out of a playoff spot at the time, they’re now four back again thanks to the Ramblers victory over Summerside on Sunday.

The Mariners are 12-14-2-2 on the season, they’ll return on New Year’s Eve Day against Valley on the road.
