Part of Highway 1 in Lower Saulnierville is closed after a collision brought down power lines, according to the RCMP.
Mounties said the closure is in the 9000 block of the highway in a social media post shared around 11 a.m.
Police said officers and other first responders are at the scene and are asking people to avoid the area where possible.
Nova Scotia Power had reported an outage affecting 809 customers earlier in the day.
The utility’s outage map listed the cause as a vehicle accident, with power going out around 10:23 a.m. The outage has since cleared from the map.
The RCMP has not said whether anyone was injured or when the affected section of the highway may reopen.
