RCMP are continuing their investigation into the disappearance of a Whites Mountain man.

The Major Crime unit conducted an operation on December 2 and 3 in the community.

This was in connection with the disappearance of 48-year-old David Alexander Mitchell.

He was last seen at a Whites Mountain Road home on September 9th, 2024.  He was reported missing on September 25, 2024.

Police continue to search for details surrounding his disappearance.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex RCMP.

The RCMP Major Crime Unit took over the investigation in September 2025.

“This is a case that involves several unanswered questions in relation to the events leading to and following the disappearance of David Mitchell on September 9, 2024,” says Cpl. Matthew Leblanc-Smith of the New Brunswick RCMP. “The Southeast District RCMP has worked diligently on this file over the last year, and our Major Crime Unit will continue this work to ensure all avenues are explored to solve this case.”

Mitchell is described as around 6’2, around 180 pounds with hazel eyes, grey hair and a grey goatee.
