A Halifax police officer was cleared by the province’s police watch dog after they shot their gun during an attempted traffic stop.
SiRT says it was in the evening of August 27 when two officers saw a vehicle driving erratically when leaving a routine call on Main Avenue in Halifax.
They tried to stop the car by walking into the street and motioning to the driver.
Instead, the vehicle sped toward them.
One officer moved out of the way, and the other shot their gun twice at the vehicle as it drove away.
The car was found early the next morning. The driver and passenger were arrested.
No one was injured.
