Woman dies after collision involving bus

A 43‑year‑old woman has died after being struck by a bus on a section of Loch Lomond Road in Saint John.

Saint John police say the incident occurred early Thursday morning near the intersection of McDonald Street and Loch Lomond Road.

Emergency crews were called at approximately 6:09 a.m., and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A section of Loch Lomond Road between McDonald Street and Courtenay Avenue remains closed while officers continue their work.

Police said they have notified the next of kin.

The City of Saint John confirmed the vehicle involved was a Saint John Transit bus.

“Our thoughts are with the individual’s family and loved ones during this very difficult time. Incidents like this are difficult for our entire community,” the city said in a statement.

Investigators are asking witnesses or anyone with dash‑cam or video footage from the area to contact the Saint John Police Force at 506‑648‑3333.
