Port Saint John reported that the 2025 cruise season was its busiest on record.

Between April and November, the port welcomed 196,626 passengers and 81,560 crew members.

Five ships made their first visit to the Bay of Fundy, including Virgin Voyages.

Officials say the busiest week came between September 29 and October 3, when 15 ships arrived in five days.

Some of those vessels were diverted by hurricanes, bringing more than 32,000 passengers in that short stretch.

“Our 2025 cruise season was one full of tests that our tourism partners and cruise operations team passed with flying colours,” said Natalie Allaby, director of cruise, marketing and engagement at Port Saint John.

“Our focus on elevating the passenger experience continues to pay off, and we salute our cruise community for raising the bar yet again in 2025.”

The season ended on November 6 with the arrival of Crystal Serenity.

Since 1989, Port Saint John has welcomed more than 3.5 million cruise passengers.

The port estimates cruise activity generates more than $85 million in annual economic impact across the Bay of Fundy region.
